About Sam Coren

Hi there! I’m Sam Coren – an audio technology marketer and musician living in Boston, MA. I currently work as Demand Generation Manager for iZotope where I get to tell the world every day about the incredible, award-winning audio plug-ins we make. I came to Boston from Bucks County PA in 2006 to attend Northeastern University where I graduated from with a BS in Music Industry. At Northeastern I served as Music Director for their radio station 104.9 WRBB FM Boston and co-hosted a show called “You Can’t Do That on Radio Anymore.”

After graduating Northeastern, I worked at OurStage.com, a music discovery website, as part of their Marketing & Community teams. At OurStage I honed my inbound marketing chops and later became a Marketing Strategist for an early HubSpot partner agency that focused on helping small to medium-sized businesses. Later on I decided to go deeper with content marketing and joined StudentAdvisor, a website geared toward helping students and their parents compare colleges and navigate through the search process. After StudentAdvisor, I jumped back into the agency world again, consulting on technical and content SEO strategy for clients such as Carbonite, Zipcar, Dana-Farber/Boston Children’s, and Nuance Healthcare at Charles River Interactive. Before coming to iZotope, I managed marketing programs for Lattice Engines, a Sequoia Capital and NEA backed company which makes predictive analytics applications for sales and marketing.

Music has always been an important part of my life since attending Settlement Music School in Philadelphia as a child. I’ve played guitar and bass for various Boston rock bands such as Sleep Crimes, Shaved Head Britney, and Candy Miami. I also have a solo psych rock project is called Death Cactus. Occasionally I get to serve as a panelist on The New Audio Podcast discussing music technology and industry trends.

Giving back to the community is also something I care very much about. I’ve done volunteer marketing work for Somerville Local First and I also do donate my time and expertise to Girls Rock Campaign Boston as an instrument instructor and band coach.
