Eye Witness Records New Album

Eye Witness on WRBB

I recently took on the project of managing the Worcester, Massachusetts based husband and wife folk duo Eye Witness. As I write this they’re busy as bees in the recording studio working on tracks for their debut album. After seeing Rainy and Milo Logan perform live on numerous occasions I’m thrilled that they’re finally satisfied enough with their current material to cut their first record.

Eye Witness has been around in various incarnations since 2007. Over the past few years they transformed from an alt-rock trio to their current stripped down acoustic set up. The husband and wife band lineup draws numerous comparisons to Jack and Meg White, but I can assure you they are not divorced and haven’t pretended to be brother and sister.

At the center of the action is the mysterious Milo. He captivates the audience with his hauntingly beautiful voice while wielding his Martin acoustic guitar and donning his trademark bowler. Rainy accompanies her husband with background vocals and an arsenal of instruments including (but never limited to) clarinet, accordion, tambourine, flute, xylophone, and various drums. One thing I adore about Eye Witness is that they’re constantly changing the instrumentation of their songs for their live performances. No two gigs are ever really the same with them. Rainy mentioned to me that having only one other band member to worry about gives you a lot of flexibility for being able to make constant changes to the live show.

Last month I invited Eye Witness to stop by the WRBB studio in Boston to perform one of their new songs live on the air. It was their first time giving an in-studio radio performance and they were psyched about the whole ordeal. With guitar and clarinet in tow the duo gave the world a taste of things to come with this untitled track.
